Terms of Use
Last updated 13 September 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Bucksy, a grocery receipt tracking and spending analysis service operated by [COMPANY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS] ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
Bucksy lets you upload photographs of grocery receipts, extracts the line items from them with the help of an automated model, organises those items into categories, and shows you summaries of your spending. Features vary by plan and may change as the service develops.
The service is provided for personal household budgeting. It is not accounting, tax, financial or nutritional advice, and you should not rely on it as the sole record of a transaction.
2. Your account
You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if that is higher, to create an account. Accounts are created and authenticated through our identity provider, and you are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for everything done under your account.
You may invite other people into a shared space. Everyone in a space can see and edit the receipts and categories in it, so only invite people you intend to share that information with. Removing a member stops their future access; it does not undo what they already saw.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of the receipt images and the data you upload. You grant us a limited licence to store, process and display that content solely to operate the service for you — including sending receipt images to our automated extraction provider so the line items can be read.
You must not upload content you have no right to upload, and you must not use the service to store material unrelated to your own household purchasing.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to access another user's account, space or data.
- Do not probe, scan or interfere with the service, or circumvent rate or storage limits.
- Do not scrape the service or use it to build a competing dataset or product.
- Do not upload malware, or content that is unlawful in your jurisdiction or ours.
5. Plans, billing and refunds
Paid plans are not on sale yet. When they are, some features will require one. Prices are shown on the pricing page and are stated per month in US dollars, exclusive of any taxes that may apply. Paid plans renew automatically each month until cancelled; you may cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
Payments are handled by our payment processor. We do not receive or store your full card details. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments already made are non-refundable, though we will consider a refund where the service was materially unavailable.
6. Automated extraction
Receipt extraction is automated and imperfect. Prices, quantities, store names and categories may be read incorrectly, and you are responsible for reviewing and correcting them before relying on any figure the service reports.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may add, change or withdraw features, and we may change these Terms. If a change is material we will give notice through the service or by email before it takes effect, and continued use afterwards means you accept it.
8. Termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms, or where required by law. On deletion we remove your receipts, images and extracted data as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law the service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data beyond what we can restore from our own backups. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Where our liability is not excluded, it is capped at the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim and [LIABILITY CAP].
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW JURISDICTION], and the courts of [COURTS JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.
